HAMPTONS ESTATE
Interior Renovation, Furniture Design 2019
Bridgehampton, NY
This home began as one of the original farm houses built in the Hamptons in the 1950’s. Over time and numerous additions, it had become a sprawling estate with elegantly scaled rooms, quirky nooks and staircases carrying you throughout the space. Honoring it’s spirit and our multi-generational clients, we set out to design a narrative that unfolds in its own unique story as you move through the house. Layering each space with equal parts visual poetry and modern functionality.
A BOLD BACKDROP OF BLACK MILLWORK AND LEOPARD CARPET CARRIES THROUGH THE SECOND FLOOR LANDING AND HALL SPACES. WE WANTED TO INFUSE THESE “WALKTHROUGH” ROOMS WITH A PLAYFUL CURIOSITY CREATING SPACES TO TUCKAWAY OR LINGER.
A PLAYFUL CABBAGE ROSE AND LEOPARD BROCADE LAYER TOGETHER FOR COZY LOUNGING ON OUR CUSTOM DESIGNED “GRANDMA CHIC” SOFA.
INSPIRED BY OLD-WORLD MANORS, WE INSTALLED STONE CHECKERED FLOORS; CONNECTING THE BACK OF HOUSE AREAS AND LAYERED HISTORICAL COLORS ONTO THE MILLWORK FOR QUIRKY ENTRANCE POINTS.
THE MUDROOM AND BACKSTAIR HALL INSIDE THE CARRIAGE HOUSE. HERMES WALLPAPER AND VINTAGE PIECES MAINTAIN THE MIX OF OLD-WORLD AND NEW.
